Description

In the spirit of the 10th anniversary of Wind Meets Gas, the (Deputy) Ambassadors of Lithuania, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Finland, Norway, and Sweden will discuss some of the most significant developments in the European energy transition over the course of the last decade.

Following an introduction on the impact of the change in the geopolitical context on the energy transition by the Ambassador of Lithuania, the Ambassador of Denmark will discuss developments in offshore wind as a key pillar in the transition. With a view to strengthening our cooperation across borders and the North Seas, the Deputy Head of Mission of the UK will highlight the critical role of interconnectors, whereas the Ambassador-designate of Finland will focus on the role of clean hydrogen in system integration. The Ambassador of Norway will reflect on energy security and deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS). The discussion will be concluded with a look at the demand side with the Deputy Head of Mission of Sweden looking at developments in industrial decarbonisation.
