Mikael Antell is the Ambassador-designate of Finland to the Kingdom of the Netherlands since 1 September 2026. Before his move to the Netherlands, he was a Deputy Director General for Political Affairs at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (2022-2026).
Mikael joined the Finnish Foreign Service in 1995 and has since then engaged in particular with issues related to security policy, Nordic cooperation and European Union.
Mikael has also been the Finnish Ambassador to Norway (2018-2022), Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Stockholm (2013-2018), Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland in Copenhagen (2003-2008) and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Santiago de Chile.
Mikael joined the Finnish Foreign Service in 1995 and has since then engaged in particular with issues related to security policy, Nordic cooperation and European Union.
