Mølnvik is vice president Research in SINTEF Energy Research. She was heading a department of 70 researchers in SINTEF Energy Research until spring 2026. She is the Director of the FME gigaCCS (2024-2032), a 500 MNOK centre of excellence funded by the Research Council of Norway and a strong industry cluster. Mølnvik has worked with SINTEF since 1997 and holds a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU. She has for nearly three decades contributed to the development of the CCS area, though building CCS strategies and a strategic portfolio of projects, including EU-, research infrastructure- and large, multi-client projects in Norway. Mølnvik is a Board member in UKCCSRC, the Petroleum centre LowEmission, FME MarTrans, FME InterPlay and FME HYDROGENi. She has a seat at the International Advisory Board of the INNO CCUS, the Danish government's CCUS research partnership, supported by Innovation Fund Denmark. She is also a member of The International Strategic Advisory Body (ISAB) of the International Test Arena for Zero- and Low Emission Aviation and leader of the Board for the Norwegian CCUS Innovation cluster.
