Dr. Markus Krebber has been Chief Executive Officer of RWE AG since May 2021, leading one of the world's foremost energy companies through its transformation towards a sustainable, secure and competitive energy future. Under his leadership, RWE has significantly expanded its global renewable energy portfolio while continuing to play a key role in ensuring security of supply across Europe.
Dr. Krebber joined the RWE Group in 2012 and served as Chief Financial Officer of RWE AG from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, he was CEO of RWE Supply & Trading and held several senior management positions at Commerzbank. He began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company after completing his studies in economics and business administration. He also holds a doctorate in economics from Humboldt University of Berlin.
As CEO, Dr. Krebber is a leading voice in Europe's energy transition, advocating for the rapid deployment of renewable energy, flexible power generation, hydrogen, energy storage and resilient energy systems to support industrial competitiveness and decarbonisation.
